Week 12/2026 : March 16th Monday to 22nd Sunday

Week started off with periods. This week also - Supreme Court of India dismissed a PIL seeking a mandatory nationwide menstrual leave policy. There were opinions for and against. Court gave the reason that this can cause gender inequality. And women wont be preferred at workplace as they can be financially liable. I think what court did was right. Yes. Some women bears unbelievable pain (i was one among till I gave birth to Dhruva). But its not necessary the leave should be included by law. It should rather be a personal choice of a company/any workspace/local body. Women would be treated differently if they are given such leave (I have seen the consequences of free bus fare for women in Karnataka). In olden days those who are menstruating would be kept away, they were not allowed to touch anything, anyone (true even today at some families). If we are given a leave by law, then what's the difference then and now. I would not like my colleague to know that I am on my periods. If he knows he would show me empathy or apthy and I would not like both happening. Periods are an unavoidable part of our body, and there is no meaning in telling or not telling.

For me periods pass like -- I would sit in a place for hours. I write mostly. Or I read. I get time, because my in laws forbid me doing any heavy work at home (sweeping, wiping, hanging clothes etc). That won't be the case for mamy working women. They have to go out, travel, get things done, balance household. But again its their choice/necessity, can't blame anyone right.

I sat and wrote my column for Shramajeevi. I completed reading magazines pending from last month. I am planning the camp. I watched a few documentaries on ALTEFF so that I can screen them during camp. I found few suitable interesting ones. I did an embroidery on my tote bag.

Also I am planning a small bag business for my aunt. I went to the city looking for clothes. I brainstormed with chatgpt on what bags to sew, sizes, varieties etc. Watched many YouTube videos of sewing trendy bags easily. I have saved everything, I am sharing all these with my aunt next time when I go to theirs.
 
Thursday was Yugadi. Our new year. Everyone was at home. We made good food and ate. That's our celebration!

On Saturday I went to watch drama 'Rama Krishna Shiva' by Prakash Raj's team 'Nirdiganta'. It was on 'Ram Manohar Lohiyas' interpretation of mythological characters of Rama Krishna and Shiva's. I enjoyed thoroughly. It was thought provoking.

From last week’s post; yes, the lumbar back pain! It still hasn’t improved. But I’m slowly moving forward with the feeling that it has become a part of my life, and I just have to embrace it as my own. The only solution is to lay down & not stress the nerves, which is something I obviously cannot afford at this age and stage. Week 2/2026: 5 Jan to 11 Jan

Ah what a good start to the year 2026! The week was colorful.  Of course cough and cold season's not over, but I got over it. Also the back pain, looks like it's going to stay with me forever, I have to move on; this week I mostly ignored it too. First was completing crocheting the iPhone mobile pocket. It's been incomplete for so many many days, and completing it was a pure achievement.  Monday morning I went for shopping at 'reliance trends' and 'babyhug'. There are not many malls like this here in our small town. Even the collection in this shops are also limited, very boring types. I went with an intention of buying some new kurtas of L size (M doesn't fit my mom body anymore), and I didn't like any. I came back. But it was so refreshing. Week 50/2025 : 8th December to 14 December

Dhruva is an year old. And it was time for vaccination. Typhoid+Hepatitis A. He already knew something bad is going to happen when we laid him on the hospital bed. He started crying way before doctor took out needle. Hungama lasted couple of minutes. We said thank you to our paediatrician in our own way: by giving a personalized notebook with our doc's name and a little embroidery. And we didn't miss giving chocolates to the nurse aunty. The little embroidered diary We had a pizza on the way back home at 'La pinoz'. We love the Indian flavours at La Pinoz. We have a domino's, but we don't go there. We don't like the thick crust of the pizza base. Although dhruva can eat anything now,, we prefer not to give junk untill he becomes aware of healthy v/s not.
