Week 48 / 2025: Monday 23rd Nov to Sunday 30th Nov

From last week’s post; yes, the lumbar back pain! It still hasn’t improved. But I’m slowly moving forward with the feeling that it has become a part of my life, and I just have to embrace it as my own. The only solution is to lay down & not stress the nerves, which is something I obviously cannot afford at this age and stage. Still, I’m thankful to God that it didn’t trouble me during the third trimester and post delivery. God truly has His own plans.
My reading has stopped for now as I’m slowly getting back to my pending work. But watching? That hasn’t stopped. I’m really enjoying the anime 'Demon Slayer'. I found out that 'Family Man Season3' is out on prime and I shifted to wtaching my most favorite series now. I had said I was crocheting a sling bag, but the plan changed when I saw a trendy crochet iPhone pocket on Instagram. So I jumped from the sling bag to the pocket easier, but still time consuming. I’m doing it slowly. I also finished two embroidery projects, which I’ll share soon.

We are already at the beginning of the month, and my mind is constantly thinking about what to write. Earlier this week, I interviewed 'Dr. Priyadarsanan Dharmarajan' from 'ATREE' for a story on insects as food and feed. It was incredibly insightful. I’m planning to send the article to Shramjeevi and Sudha. I’m also putting together a newsletter for our company Haridrekha, listing all the projects, consultations, and trainings we completed this year. I’m making it on Canva.

Mid week, I was craving North Indian food, so I asked Appa and Amma if they could join us for lunch. Of course, tiny places like Sirsi don’t have many good restaurant options. Very limited, actually. We ended up going to Pai Hotel, which has recently done some minimal renovation it looked nice. After lunch, we stayed at my parents’ house for a while. It was refreshing.
My appa carrying Dhruva at Pai Hotel's entrance Believe it or not, Dhruva loves books. He doesn’t tear the pages when you give him one. He scans through them carefully and points out all the uncles, aunties, annas, akkas, ajjas, and ajjis. He also points at objects ball, dog, cow, flowers, fish, vehicles and identifies them in his own baby language. We already have a subscription of 'Magic Pot' (that was my childhood's favorite). I subscribed to a new Kannada children’s magazine 'Chilipili Goodu' by Harivu Books. Although Dhruva can’t read yet, I want to build the habit early. I also ordered a bookshelf so he can access his books easily. I once read that if children can reach their books on their own, it inspires the reading habit.

From this week onwards, I thought I would also note what’s happening on the farm. Since irrigation has begun, we are unrolling the drip pipes that were rolled and tied during the rainy season. Before that, we did levelling in the areca farm interspaces with the help of an earth mover, and we are continuing weeding with cutters. We completed one round of areca harvesting only the well ripe bunches. We also heard that the annual flower fair at the district Horticulture Department will be held on January 26, so we are preparing ornamental plants at the nursery to set up a stall there.

I’m shifting the blog with my weekly notes to a new address. I decided to keep it a little more private after being convinced by Sujay. So the new blog will be shared only with my regular readers, not new ones. I’ll continue writing weekly notes it has become a habit, and honestly, a bit addictive. Inspired by Namrata’s Wednesday Windows, I’ll be adding one more feature 'Monday Musings' a short reflection on a thought that lingered in my mind through the week. This section will be available to all readers.
