This was such a lovely week. Monday we went to 'Alemane Habba' by Rotary club sirsi. Alemane habba is basically a tradition of celebrating the harvest of sugarcane crop followed by making sugarcane juice and Jaggery. But this by rotary is held annually, is a kind of 'fair', celebration also for charity. There were food stalls, serving sugarcane juice and various dishes made out of sugarcane like dosa, idli etc. Various stage programs were going on (Dhruva was dancing for the loud beat). All of us went. We had fun.  Sugarcane piled up at the Alemane habba Out home is getting prepared for the marriage of Sujay's elder cousin. Cleaning washing organising mode is on. Tuesday I cleaned up my little library.  My bro-in-law's friend has a tours+travels business. He often gets visitors from abroad. He takes them to show Gokarna Goa, and other tourist places around. This time a bunch of tourists from Netherlands asked him for agrotourism. He asked us if we ca...

Week 4/2026: 19th Jan Monday to 25th Jan Sunday

I had been wanting to do a baby photoshoot of Dhruva for a very long time. a proper studio photoshoot with pre-set themes, matching outfits, and professional photography. This Monday, we finally did it. There were five themes in two hours. I was worried that changing outfits and props so quickly would irritate Dhruva and that he might cry throughout the shoot. But he cooperated far more than I expected. We clicked some really cool photos. We haven't received edited photos yet. Till then here is one sujay took with our camera. This week, I also completed writing an article. I was completely out of ideas, brainstormed with ChatGPT, and ended up writing something on immortality in the plant kingdom. Plants don’t have a separate germline like animals do; their growth and reproduction happen simultaneously. Their death isn’t strictly time-bound either. How cool is that? Don’t you think the plant kingdom is almost immortal? On Wednesday, I travelled 300 km back and forth to c...

This was a productive week too. On Tuesday, a Millet Food Competition was organised in the town by the Agriculture Department, and I was asked to be a judge. How could I judge when I am neither a food enthusiast nor a good cook? I declined. Instead, since many women were participating, I felt I should conduct some activity or programme through Phasalu. So I planned a Millet Quiz—and it turned out to be fun. women participants at the millet fair On our way back home after the programme, we went to a cafĂ©. I liked the graffiti on its wall, which features the specialities of our small, beautiful town. On Wednesday, I sat down to write Instagram posts about the past few programmes we conducted through Phasalu. Pooling all the photos, arranging them in Canva, and writing captions may look like tiny tasks, but they consume a lot of time and mental energy. After posting, I started to plan an article for my column—plan, not write. I am too late this time. I don’t know what I’m goin...

Week 2/2026: 5 Jan to 11 Jan

Ah what a good start to the year 2026! The week was colorful.  Of course cough and cold season's not over, but I got over it. Also the back pain, looks like it's going to stay with me forever, I have to move on; this week I mostly ignored it too. First was completing crocheting the iPhone mobile pocket. It's been incomplete for so many many days, and completing it was a pure achievement.  Monday morning I went for shopping at 'reliance trends' and 'babyhug'. There are not many malls like this here in our small town. Even the collection in this shops are also limited, very boring types. I went with an intention of buying some new kurtas of L size (M doesn't fit my mom body anymore), and I didn't like any. I came back. But it was so refreshing. This year I have determined 'I will note down everything that happened and thats going to happen'. So I thought of buying a planner. I ordered alicia souza's monthly planner. It got deliv...

Week 1/2026: 29 Dec Monday to 4 Jan sunday

I am keeping this weekly notes very short again. Not in a good mood to write. Its my health. Been on a roller coaster ride throughout this week. Dont ask about the back pain, it is as it is. Adding onto that I caught cold, followed by throat pain and fever. Gradually moving to the coughing phase. And I can't rest like how I used to before. Though, I had some urgent things to do at Poly house- preparing for flower show this month end. So I had to hurry and do that. When you have goals set for the day/week, every minute matters, and you want it to be productive. I usually plan what needs to be done this week beforehand. But this week I  had no goals set and the time flew. Every minute I got I spent in crocheting in order to complete a long pending project. No new year celebrations. I don't like. But I do feel fresh. This new day I made up my mind to invest a little in shares. Let's see how it grows 3 years later. I am watching Good omens. And Pushpavalli on prime. Hope I am b...
