Week 3/2026 : Jan 11 Monday to Jan 18 Sunday

This was a productive week too.

On Tuesday, a Millet Food Competition was organised in the town by the Agriculture Department, and I was asked to be a judge. How could I judge when I am neither a food enthusiast nor a good cook? I declined. Instead, since many women were participating, I felt I should conduct some activity or programme through Phasalu. So I planned a Millet Quiz—and it turned out to be fun.

On our way back home after the programme, we went to a café. I liked the graffiti on its wall, which features the specialities of our small, beautiful town.

On Wednesday, I sat down to write Instagram posts about the past few programmes we conducted through Phasalu. Pooling all the photos, arranging them in Canva, and writing captions may look like tiny tasks, but they consume a lot of time and mental energy. After posting, I started to plan an article for my column—plan, not write. I am too late this time. I don’t know what I’m going to write; I feel completely out of ideas.

Access Agriculture is designing a Kannada app, and they needed someone for translation work. Almost the whole of Thursday went into that.

Friday went by in online shopping: everything for Dhruva. His diapers, body lotion, soaps, footwear, clothes. I usually make a list and order everything at once, so it’s time-consuming.

On Saturday, I went to town with a long list of work. My laptop had become slow, so I got it checked. I visited the doctor for medicine for my back pain, went again to the horticulture department’s nursery to get chrysanthemum plants, shopped for vegetables and fruits, and attended to many other small errands.

On Sunday, I refreshed my to-do list and ticked off many pending tasks that were completed. We also had visitors at our farm.

I finished watching Good Omens Season 1 and Pushpavalli Seasons 1 and 2—binged them, actually. I didn’t really like them. I also completed reading magazines that had been pending for the last two months (a total of 8 editions of The Week, 2 National Geographic, 1 Reader’s Digest, and more).
