Week 13/2026: 23rd March Monday to 29th Sunday

This week I read two books. 'Noorondu nenapu nyuranininda' by TGShrinidhi, collection of short articles on technology: 'krishikana Kashmira' about what an agriculture scientist saw on his trip to Kashmir (this brought back so many memories from my trip to Srinagar and surroundings). With these I completed reading all the books pending. I ordered new books. I completed watching 'A Knight og the Seven Kingdoms'. This was soo sooo good. If you are a fan of GOT you will love it. I watched one more movie called 'Ammu' on a husband abusing his wife. It had a good rating, but I didn't like. Whole week I was busy designing the camp. I completed with the planning of first day sessions on 'water'. The skeletons ready. I have 6 more days to plan. God lead me 🙏🏻 We have planned to do Dhruva's Chowla (the first hair cut) on 24th of April. So we are visiting close relatives to invite. A German who is into spices trade visited our farm on a study purp...

Week 12/2026 : March 16th Monday to 22nd Sunday

Week started off with periods. This week also - Supreme Court of India dismissed a PIL seeking a mandatory nationwide menstrual leave policy. There were opinions for and against. Court gave the reason that this can cause gender inequality. And women wont be preferred at workplace as they can be financially liable. I think what court did was right. Yes. Some women bears unbelievable pain (i was one among till I gave birth to Dhruva). But its not necessary the leave should be included by law. It should rather be a personal choice of a company/any workspace/local body. Women would be treated differently if they are given such leave (I have seen the consequences of free bus fare for women in Karnataka). In olden days those who are menstruating would be kept away, they were not allowed to touch anything, anyone (true even today at some families). If we are given a leave by law, then what's the difference then and now. I would not like my colleague to know that I am on my periods. If he ...

Monday I did a few school visits to spread word about our camp. But no students/their parents have approached me till the day. Looks like the teachers didn't convey this to students. Or students might not be interested. It is discouraging yes. But I have to keep trying. 13 students have registered. I expect atleast 10 more to join. God has his own plans. Let me keep calm and see. This week I did a few work at the polyhouse. My succulents needed a grooming. Weeding. Soil top up. Fertilising. Also I put base plates to all of them. Did adenium pollinations. I wish to expany nursery. God knows when I will get time! I am writing for the column. I thought I should write for two issues. Because I will be busy next month in preparation of Camp. We went to the beach! It was long pending. This was Dhruva's first beach day. He was afraid at first. But went mad later. We were struggling to keep him back from touching water. He was behaving like drunk people. It was so much fun.  ...

I am running late to write this weeks notes. So keeping it simple. As I said last week, Jatre vibes are still on. We went two times again this week. I was busy at the polyhouse. reorganising my succulents rack. Some had overgrown, some had died, they needed attention. I am grooming them. fruits from the wild, the summer treat I was also busy with our NGO's camp work. I was regularly f ollowing up with schools, for recommending students. I ordered pin badges (from the gifting market place), seals (from scribbles), cloth bags (from meesho) tripod and writing board (from flipkart). I found them cheaper online than the retail shops here. I received them at very good quality too. Thursday we went to vadiraj matha, near to our place. Being in sirsi, and just 10kms from home, I have heard of this place regularly, but never had a chance to go. One of my relatives had put up a stall, selling the cloth bags she handmade. I went there to encourage her.  It was a surprise to see th...
