Week 40/2025: 25th September Monday to 5th October Sunday
This week begun with meeting the famous environmentalist and writer of Karnataka ‘Mr.Shivananda Kalave’, who has done a tremendous work in the area of saving forests and rivers of central western ghats. I wanted to discuss few things with respect to our NGO’s work. Immersing in his stories and experiences, I was lost in time. We sat for three hours, continuously talking about random things, from nature to agriculture, from art and history to science, from religious issues to politics. He is a treasure of knowledge. Always a pleasure to meet him.
The book I got as gift from sir, It’s a collection of his experiences on teaching young children
I assume this week was mostly a student-teacher meet up week. First it was Kalave sir and then Dr.Jagadeesh, retired dean of Forestry College Sirsi, one of our well-wishers, who keeps us encouraged on even the tiniest of our achievements. He had built a new house in Sirsi, and had invited us for the warming ceremony. Me and Sujay went to wish him and his family, also to meet his grandson who is just a day younger to Dhruva. And of course, to see the architecture of new house. Their new house is 2BHK, one floored with contemporary design. I liked the design. But for places like ours which receive heavy rains I don’t feel the design, especially with those wooden and glass elements will sustain well.
At the new house
The Kantara fever is on!!! Much awaited prequel to the first movie is out. I re-watched the first movie to refresh the memory. Just goosebumps however times I watch. I have heard that the prequel is also a blockbuster. I don’t know when will I be able to watch. Dhruva won’t let me watch a movie 3 hour straight in the theatre.
Navaratri is over. As always I am left amazed at the concept of nine avatars of Devi, each representing an emotion, conquer over negativity. At home we celebrate only the last day that is Vijaya Dasahmi by doing ‘Sharada Sthapana’. We did Dhruva’s Akshara Abhyasa – a start to read and write after respecting Sharada devi, goddess of wisdom and Knowledge. Dhruva wrote the first letters of ‘Shri’ and ‘Om’ from Sujay’s hand on the plate filled with rice.
Our Sharade
Citrus picking event is over, but not the vibe. Many people are still visiting our farm to pick eat and carry fresh Coorg Mandarins. We are hosting them happily.
Happy guestsRecently we went out and I dressed Dhruva pink. It was a rani pink t-shirt with a unicorn printed on it. I know that sounds girly. But why? Why pink, unicorn, flowers are for baby girls and blue, dinosaur, car, JCB prints are for baby boys.
Wearing pinkI think that’s it for the week!? Oh BTW I am not doing Inktober this year :l
