Week 33: 11th July Monday to 17th July Sunday

This week started with finding out about Utricularia. Coming across this plant, knowing it to be carnivorous was a tiny moment of discovery. This plant is seen everywhere here, I would have almost neglected, if not for that day. Me, Sujay and Dhurva had been to a short bike ride, to the stream nearby. On the bridge was this plant, with attractive flower. I picked it up, took it home to google more and get pictures. Eureka happened. Read more about it here.

I was craving for Manchurian, wishing to eat out. But not with Sujay, he is too boring for a company (now after marriage). I wanted to talk fresh with someone else. So, I asked my cousins if they could join us. They came over. I took Dhruva (and Sujay of course our driver).

Empty plates and full stomachs

I recently read a blog post ‘Chit Chat ft. Foggy Brain’ by Namrata. I could connect with what she wrote and thought to note down what I see when I am asleep(!?). I get dreams, a lot of, messy ones, unrelated, senseless. Because of Dhruva, I have multiple sleep cycles now, like 5 to 6, in one single night. And hence more, countless dreams. Interestingly, I remember dreams as if they are movie clips. In one of the dreams I was doing ‘hamali’ (labour work) of carrying 25 kg rice bag; in another I was reviewing a dumbest book ever glorifying it as the the best in the world; in another I was upset because Sujay didn’t let me participate in a fancy dress competition; In another I have parked my scooter in the mid-way on the street, everyone’s honking; In another it’s already 7, hostel will close soon, I am searching for a reason to call and get permission from the warden; In another Sujay asked me to run slides during a presentation at some program, suddenly I am blind while setting up projector, unable to open my eyes, but I could see Sujay is angry that I couldn’t handle even the simplest of the responsibilities; In another, there were random people who call they are our relatives. They are matching the horoscope of me and my friend, to check how well we go together in friendship, like how they match horoscope of husband and wife; Terrible!!!, I get dreams is it because I am a restless person, always thinking, mind keeps running even when my body rests? You same?

This was again a week mostly spent towards writing articles, blog posts and Insta captions. I write these on my own. Without AI’s help. So, it takes a lot of time to write, rewrite, review, do corrections. I wrote one article for Sudha weekly, one for Shramajeevi. I wrote blog posts on Mormon caterpillar, Fatherof Horticulture Dr.M.H.Marigowda, Notes on our Horti Day event last week at highschool with nature classrooms, of course on Utricularia, and this week’s notes. So that’s a lot of writing.

This week was ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Janmashthami’, how can I miss Dhruva’s photoshoot. I went to city for quick shopping, Krishna’s dress and accessories were all out of stock! The hype is high! Somehow I was able to find dresses which were not of Dhruva’s size. For Aug 15th I swaddled Dhruva in cloths of Saffron white and green. I was more excited to dress him Radha. Photos clicked were super cute. Photoshoot with Krishna’s dress was horrible. He was taking out all the accessories, putting in the mouth. We couldn’t take good ones. I am planning a Krishna photoshoot after his 10th month when he starts to sit properly (*If Sujay allows to get a photographer).

Here is the picture of Dhruva as Radhe Krishna (I know many of you will be excited to read my weekly notes to see his pictures)

I follow this account ammatoday on Instagram. Vaishali is homeschooling her two girls, shares parenting tips in between. She is also a reviewer of books, conducts beautiful read alouds for children, also author of two children’s books. I wanted to buy few books of her recommendations for myself and Dhruva. I was madly listing all the books from her account. Later I found out she has an Amazon page with all the listings. So dumb of me for wasting time and energy. But do go through her account, very insightful, especially for parents.

Meanwhile,  am proud about my cutting skills in the kitchen. But I can never ace my late Ajji, she was a master, I miss her
