Week 30 : 21st July Monday to 27th July Sunday

The phone you have-what’s the purpose?. Mine is just for making calls (Not receiving- I always miss), texting on WhatsApp, Scrolling Insta. I don’t take photographs. Now… I am taking photos more than ever, for Dhruva. The phone I presently have is One Plus Nord CE 5G, I am realizing it is hopeless. I had bought it in Jan 2022, three and a half years now, the only plus about the phone its signal reception. Camer wise, my ammas Tecno phone of just 9k takes better picture than my 25k one plus. People say it’s because what I had bought was the basic model, I had to buy higher ends. Sujay had told me to get a Samsung of some 15k, but I was stubborn to get a One plus of 25k. From the day I had bought my phone, I am using Sujay’s Samsung to get pictures (of course always listening to his taunts). Now I wish to change this, which one to buy, is the big question.

After reading reviews, and listening to users I decided to get Samsung A36 of 30k. While talking to my cousin Sneha I got to know that ‘The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’ have a tie up with Samsung. She is doing her articleship, and I used her ID to purchase my new phone. After all the discounts and offers I bought the phone at 25k. Yes, grab a CA student for better discounts on buying any Samsung devices from phones to fridges to tvs to washing machine. I will review my new phone next week.

We had fun at School – testing the soil

I have one more item under ‘which to buy’ confusion category. Its Dhruvas high chair. At home we eat at dining table, and I want to buy a high chair for Dhruva to ease my trouble of feeding him. There are so many options online, foldables, one with wheels and swing, ones that can be turned into desk and bench. The confusion here is whether to buy an expensive chair of 6k with all the amenities to use upto 5-6 years, or to buy the cheap ones of 1.5k just for the moment.  Which to buy. I am discussing with the new moms (New moms need new moms for all their sorrows and happiness) Lets see if this problem resolves.

Fabric scrap from last week – I failed to stitch a quilt. Few pieces I have kept to stitch caps for Dhurva, winter is coming.

Do you reply to random peoples texting on social media? I get many messages saying ‘Hi’, ‘Had food’, ‘Good Morning’. I rarely reply. One day I got a Hi text, I replied as it was a girl. An M.Pharma student, she had seen a post on my insta handle, of a plant (Calicarpa tomentosa) she wanted for research. I replied, she came from Dharwad, collected 3 kgs of fresh leaves and while leaving she said she is grateful for my reply on insta and she will never ignore a social media message from a stranger now on!

On the weekend we had a temple run. It was pending to visit ‘Shri Marikambe’, the most famous deity of Sirsi, after Dhruva’s birth. We took him to the temple. I am always excited to visit this temple to see the traditional ‘Khavi art’.

Also we went to the newly built ‘Gopala Krishna temple’. Architecturally beautiful it’s a nice visit in Sirsi for one fine evening.

Me and Sujay love the ‘salted caramel’ at Amul. It’s always out of stock. We anyways go to the shop to check if it’s available whenever we are on the route. It was in stock this time. Rains don’t bother us to eat ice cream.

I read two books this week. One was the Booker won collection of stories by ‘Banu Mushtaq’. It was a great read. Each of the 13 stories on the struggles of a Muslim women in South India is heart warming. I highly recommend everyone to read, I enjoyed her writing skill.

I didn’t do much with respect to work. Few new projects are under plan. New things happening next week.
