Week 25 of 2025, Monday to Sunday, 16th June to 22nd June
Konnichiwa
This week I am mostly in the polyhouse. It’s raining heavily, since few days. Only way to ‘get out of the house’ is to ‘get in to the polyhouse’. All my indoor plants had overgrown when I was away for the delivery. A mini tropical jungle had got created. Transferring plants to bigger pots, fertilizing, rearranging them on the shelf, cutting the overgrown stems, planting them separately, was all I was doing. Cacti were blooming, So I went there in the nights too.
The night bloomer
The cupboard where we had kept old
magazines was messy. Books were piled up, falling over at the slightest touch. I
am a person who like keeping things in order. I removed all the magazines since
from 2008, sorted them month and year-wise stacked them back neatly. I feel
satisfied when things are in place. This is the trait I inherited from my
mother. But our respective husbands get irritated for MISplacing their things🤗.
Its raining
I have restarted my sitar
practice. I’ve been learning Sitar since 2016, with many breaks in between. Dhruva
doesn’t enjoy it when I play — I can sense it from his expressions. Even Sujay
doesn’t like it, because I don’t play well. No one at home sings or plays
instruments — music was never in my blood. I don’t listen to famous sitar
players or classical music, and I rarely attend concerts or live programs. All
the reason why I’m not performing at the level expected after 8 to 9 years of
practice. But its ok, I am learning because I wanted to. I can’t explain how
satisfying it is just to listen to the sargam.
The other day I was washing utensils listening to songs, AFTER AGES. I am a bathroom singer. I keep humming when I work (Another trait inherited from my mother, an irritation for our respective husbands). I sing awfully. Hindi songs of 2010s are my favourite. I know every song, every singer, every word of the lyrics, every la la la la. Songs were my go-to during happy sad every kind of moment. I felt every line was written for me. Everything back then before marriage. I am realizing this all of a sudden!
Dhruva had started exploring
solid food. At the beginning I gave him rava ganji (porridge), he didn’t eat; I
gave carrot puree, he didn’t. I started worrying as he was not eating anything😞 (It is to
blame my patience, which kid after 6 months of breastfeeding would have known
that there is something called food!) Finally, after trying ten other different
things he has started liking apple puree. Now I am worried I would raise a
picky eater. Meanwhile I was also happy as he had started his commando walk🤑. He
crawls on his tummy to grab toys in front of him.
This weekend we spent at Suchi
chikkammas house. She had made Tomato Bath, tasted ultimate. She had prepared ‘punugulu’,
a snack made of rice and urad dal bater, fried into small vadas. It was new for
us; we enjoyed it with yummy tasting chutney. Also slurped bottle gourd paayasa.
They have a beagle dog named Scooby, just as small as Dhruva. But Dhruva got
scared and started crying on seeing it. Bow Bows are new for him. Also recently
we had been to a friend’s house. There was Frankie the pug. The dog was so
possessive that it didn’t allow my friend to carry Dhurva.
I have started my evening walks,
20 minutes 5 days a week that's almost 1.5kms. I completed writing article to my column in
Shramajeevi. I am into some art project, becoming carpenter now and then. Fridays
I am off to school. Making and eating ‘mango rasaayani’ continues. Oh, my Japanese
classed going greeeeaaaatttt.
Mango rasaayani in the making
dozo yoroshiku. jaa ne!
