Week 18 of 2025, Sunday to Sunday, April 27th to May 4th
I am writing from Sunday to Sunday this week. It was busy. Tiresome too.
As i said, from last week me and Dhruva are back home. Dhruva is enjoying his time with his appayya.Me too. After long long long break of 8 months I am with Sujay. Can't explain how that feels!
I have started to learn driving MG Comet, our new electric car. My Japanese classes are going great, difficult day by day. I am trying to build a free WordPress static site for our company. I already have a wix website, but it is going to expire soon. Wix is getting costlier year by year, and its not worthy spending so much on website which no one visits (according to Sujay I am wasting my time building a blog too, which no one cares to read/see).
I was very excited about 1st May, attending my friend Suhasa's wedding. Suhasa is my classmate from BSc Horticulture, 2014-18 batch. He got married to Shriya, who is our super junior, from 2016-20 batch. I was expecting many classmates, seniors, and Juniors to attend the wedding.
My preparation for the wedding was next level 😂. First was what to wear. I planned to drape a pista green raw silk saree that I had. But ended up wearing the same yellow cotton saree that I wear to every occasion. That saree I had bought on Meesho for just 280rs (I spent 450rs for stitching the blouse🤐). It had become my favorite since the day I had bought. Second was what to gift, Sujay listed few good things like bedspread, clock, sling bag. Only thing on my mind was water bottle. We gift wrapped Milton's hot and cold one litre bottle, Its olive green colored and very decent looking. hope it will be of use to them. I also went for Salon the day before. I don't do much, just 40rs, and eyebrows threading. I was never a go to salon person. I first threaded my eyebrows on the day of my engagement, since then it has become mandatory before any function. It really lits up the face and gives a kind of confidence.
As expected the wedding was a small get together. Brought back many memories.
group photo from the wedding, me in the yellowMeanwhile Sahanakka is back from Australia, she was here last week to invite us for her Maiduna's (brother in law's) wedding. She is actually my chikkamma, my amma's first cousin, (that makes her ajji for dhruva, at a very young age of 35-36😛). I share a close bond with her and her parents (Ramajja and Vijayajji) since childhood. Most of April May summers were spent there, in Kumta. Both Ramajja and Vijayajji were working in BSNL, they had a computer, with broadband connection, very very rare to find among common people those days. Also they had a library with books of Beechi, Karanta, and Poochante. And Beach 🤤 Ramajja took me to beach, every other day when I was there, and they had a fridge, to store lots lots lots of ice creams. This all lured me to stay in Kumta for most of my summer holidays. Unforgettable! wedding on May 11, in Sirsi itself, again, must attend.
May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, were my ajji's 'shraaddha', 'maasika' and 'vaikunta samaradhane' respectively; Dharmic rituals on 12th 13th and 14th day of her death. I was expecting to learn the reasons behind all the rituals, but couldn't due to the hurry burry that happened between the chores. Last day was also 'shravana aaradhane' - we worshipped 12 priests offered them feast. Many relatives and friends attended.
my appa and kaka has to offer ajji's assests (like gold, clothes, bedding sets, a cow) to the priests (daana) so that ajji leaves this place with no wishes no attachments and finds sadgati'. Gou dana - offering a cow is mandatory. Now a days small silver cow is offered, as representation. Silver boat and row in the picture is given to priests so that ajji can pass 'Vaitarani river' in the other world on the way to Yamapuri easily. According to 'Garuda purana', 'Vaitarani river' in 'Naraka' is filled with blood and flesh, crocodiles of metal, hard to pass.Thats a lot for this week. See you next!
