  The phone you have-what’s the purpose?. Mine is just for making calls (Not receiving- I always miss), texting on WhatsApp, Scrolling Insta. I don’t take photographs. Now… I am taking photos more than ever, for Dhruva. The phone I presently have is One Plus Nord CE 5G, I am realizing it is hopeless. I had bought it in Jan 2022, three and a half years now, the only plus about the phone its signal reception. Camer wise, my ammas Tecno phone of just 9k takes better picture than my 25k one plus. People say it’s because what I had bought was the basic model, I had to buy higher ends. Sujay had told me to get a Samsung of some 15k, but I was stubborn to get a One plus of 25k. From the day I had bought my phone, I am using Sujay’s Samsung to get pictures (of course always listening to his taunts). Now I wish to change this, which one to buy, is the big question.   I missed writing last week. Now its two weeks together, bear with me. The highlight of the week was my favorite ‘monkey tail cactus’ flowering!!!. Many of the cacti from my collection were blooming since last one month. It was my routine to check each of them and pollinate. Of all the cacti I have, monkey tail is such a charming one, it instantly becomes the favourite of all those who visit our farm. This is one of those plants I had brought back from my trip to Kalimpong, Darjeeling in 2023. I remember buying a new trolley, loading it with only plants and dragging it across airport. Many of those died, except a few cacti. This one was only an inch when I potted, now has grown longer and longer, and it even bloomed this year!!! A red bud emerged, and I thought it will open the next day. That next day came after a week. It was exciting.   Did I miss writing last week? I feel so. This week has been long. Happy Birthday to me. On July 1 st . We never celebrate (Except few years, at college, between friends). But I get gifts. Sujay, Appa, Amma, Kaka, Samartha, Ajji, all my chikkammas and their kids wished me, also few closest dear friends. I am blessed to have all of them who wish me not because of Facebook reminders (I don’t have a FB account either). We are determined not to celebrate Dhruva’s birthday, and not to take him to any birthday celebrations. But blessings, wishes, hugs and kisses, YES. Last week our home was buzzing with women labourers, who had come for dehusking areca. They took a leave for two days – to celebrate ‘Ardra habba’.   Ardra is basically a nakshatra, which falls during the rainy season according to Hindu astronomy. It runs for around 15 days in mid June (This year was from June 21 st to July 4 th ), marked by heavyyyy rainfall. Locals celebrate this as a festival, so labourers too...
